How this list is made, and what it is worth
Universe
The 400 most-traded optionable US names by prior-day dollar volume, price $5 or more.
Heavy volume
At least one option print today at or above the chosen floor ($250K, $500K or $1M).
Liquid
The at-the-money call and put, and the contract shown, each have a spread of 10% of mid or less.
Side rule
When the 25-delta put's and call's IVs differ by more than 2 points, the buy is the cheaper wing's 25-delta option and the sell the richer wing's. Otherwise the buy is the at-the-money call and the sell the 25-delta option with the higher IV.
Realized vol
All trading days.
Evidence
Buying options whenever implied volatility sat at or below realized found no edge on 30–60-day options, 2016–2026. The year-out at-the-money call at 0.90× the lower realized read or less is the one tested buy rule, and this list's pick is not that test's selection. Rich has never been tested as a sell signal. Selling earnings straddles lost money after bid/ask. Heavy flow and the side are untested. Short options carry tail risk; a defined-risk spread caps it.
